MARRIOTT GRAND CHATEAU

Las Vegas, NV | $3.2M renovation

Services

+ EIFS and sealant repair

+ Develop and install life safety aerial access system

+ Concrete repair and refinishing of 130,000 sq ft indoor parking structure

+ Repaint exterior high rise

Background

MC Contracting was hired to perform the exterior renovation project. When the building was designed and constructed, accommodations for swing stage and aerial access were not built into the building. The only way to reach the exterior above the fourth floor was rope access. You can do the maintenance that way, but it’s definitely not time or cost effective. We knew there was a better way.

Solution

MC Contracting coordinated with a local fall protection company and engineers to come up with a way to install permanent fixtures for the use of swing stage scaffolding from inside the mansard roof.

Process

+ Cutting fire rated access panels in guestroom walls throughout the top floor

+ X-ray and coring of post tension slab

+ Fabrication and installation of fixtures to service the entire exterior perimeter

Results

The exterior renovation of this Las Vegas strip high rise was completed on time, on budget, and all while occupied. A long-term solution to the exterior elevation access problem was successfully engineered.
